The word “healthy” seems self-explanatory. These days? It is anything but, especially in labelling. “Healthy” merely means that a specified food’s nutritional value is in line with current regulatory updates according to the FDA. So long as it meets the RDA (recommended daily allowance) it can be classified as healthy.
In reality, many of the FDA’s RDA’s are not sufficient for most people. Health and wellness are very individualized and there is no blanket one size fits all version of a healthy diet. This is where Nutrition Response Testing becomes critical to uncovering what each patient is missing from their diet and what can be supplemented in order to achieve optimal health.
